As the year starts to settle, I’ve found myself reflecting - not in a heavy way, but with clarity. 2025 was emotional, expansive, demanding and formative. It was a year that asked for more of me in every direction - and gave back lessons I’ll carry forward for a long time. Whilst its not always evident by the highlight reels of social media, it was a year of immense up’s and down’s - I was tested in more than one way, and more than one time
🌿 These are my 25 Lessons from 2025
Discipline beats motivation - every time.
You can be emotionally stretched and still perform at the highest level.
Not every ending needs closure to be complete.
Ambition doesn’t cancel softness; it sharpens it.
Timing matters more than chemistry - in deals and in dating.
Consistency compounds quietly.
Boundaries are a growth strategy, not a personality flaw.
Some people are lessons, not long-term fixtures. I was served many this year
Being underestimated is an advantage if you stay focused.
Rest is productive when it protects longevity.
You don’t need to explain your standards to anyone.
Comparison steals joy - especially when you can’t see the full picture.
Confidence comes from evidence, not validation.
Growth often looks like discomfort before it looks like success.
You’re allowed to evolve beyond the version people first met.
Independence is powerful, but community sustains you.
Hard seasons refine priorities quickly.
Persistence matters more than early momentum.
You can change direction without changing your values.
Emotional intelligence is a career advantage.
The unglamorous middle is where most people quit - don’t.
Learning never stops paying dividends.
Peace is a choice you make daily.
Gratitude softens even the hardest chapters.
You’re exactly where you need to be to build what comes next.
📈 WSGC Take on the Markets
1) UK Markets Hit Record Levels as Year Ends
The UK’s FTSE 100 climbed more than 20% in 2025, driven by expectations of rate cuts, strong performance in financials and mining, and defensive appeal amid global volatility - making it one of the strongest annual runs in years.
WSGC take: When markets deliver big gains in a turbulent year, it shows that confidence often returns even when uncertainty persists. Disciplined, long-term positioning beats short-term swings.
2) Global Stocks Finish 2025 With Strong Inflows and Double-Digit Gains
Global equity funds attracted strong inflows late in the year and major stock indexes closed 2025 with double-digit gains, powered by resilient earnings and broad participation despite macro noise.
WSGC take: This kind of market breadth underscores what we’ve preached all year: resilience matters. Growth isn’t linear, but markets that end strong reward patience and conviction.
📚 Why Learning Is A Non-Negotiable
One thing I’ve doubled down on over the past few months is learning - especially when life felt noisy or uncertain. Reading has been a way to slow my thinking and sharpen my perspective. Whenever I am having a tough time or receive unfortunate news I throw myself into some non-fiction reading to regain perspective and reinspire myself
Three books I read over the Christmas break which stayed with me:
107 Days - Kamala Harris
A powerful insight into leadership under pressure. It’s a reminder that clarity, conviction, and resilience matter most when the world is watching - and when it isn’t.Quit - Annie Duke
This reframed how I think about persistence. Quitting isn’t weakness - it’s a strategic decision when the data changes. The real skill is knowing what to persist with and what to quit. A lot of us hang onto careers, people, mindsets for way longer than they serve usThe Source - Dr Tara Swart
A grounding reminder that mindset, biology, and environment all shape outcomes. You can’t think your way out of burnout - you have to support your brain properly.
WSGC take:
The most powerful women I know are always learning. Curiosity compounds just like capital.
🌍 Life Lately - On the Move
The last few weeks have felt beautifully expansive.
I’ve spent time in the Oman desert, then Muscat, and now Dubai - moving between stillness and energy, reflection and momentum. Travel always helps me recalibrate. It reminds me how much perspective shapes performance. And it also reminds me how incredibly lucky I am to have the opportunity to travel so much
Each place has given something different:
quiet clarity in the desert, rhythm in Muscat, and forward energy in Dubai. The world is full of opportunities, you just need to make sure you put yourself out there to find them
