It’s that time of year when the pace hasn’t slowed, but my energy definitely has. Between deal flow, deadlines, and the quiet politics that swirl around every office, I’ve felt this urge to hibernate - to pull back, reflect, and recharge.
And I’ve realised: the most productive thing I can do right now is rest.
Spending time alone has felt like a quiet luxury - no noise, no networking, just space to breathe. Because in banking, there’s always another email, another model, another conversation to manage… but the real challenge is learning when to pause before the burnout hits.

Social media: this week I’m taking a social media break from Instagram, after a period of full on summer posting, it’s important to give your mind and soul time to recoup
Markets: Still buzzing, still unpredictable. A reminder that volatility outside mirrors volatility inside - which is why personal equilibrium matters more than ever.
Mindset: Rest isn’t weakness. It’s energy management. Even the best performers need recovery periods.

This week’s been slower, intentionally. I’ve been saying no more often, reclaiming my evenings, and finding comfort in solitude. There’s something grounding about making dinner just for yourself, sitting in silence, and knowing that stillness doesn’t mean stagnation - it means strength.
