💭 This Week’s Theme: Power, Perception & Self-Promotion
It’s the final stretch before promotion panels - and I’ve been campaigning with a vengeance.
More than 20 one-on-ones, countless conversations, and endless reminders to senior voices of why I’ve earned my seat at the table at a faster pace than most.
It’s equal parts strategy and stamina - not just managing deliverables, but managing perception. Because in banking (and beyond), the story you tell about yourself is often just as important as the work you deliver.
And that ties neatly into this week’s broader theme - pretty privilege - something I unpacked on TikTok recently.

💋 The Pretty Privilege Conversation
It’s a complex topic: how appearance, polish, and confidence intersect with professional credibility.
In finance, image is currency - presentation, tone, poise - all play a role in how seriously you’re taken.
But it’s nuanced. The same traits that help you open doors can, paradoxically, make others question whether you earned your place once inside. Personally I have also experienced negative implications based on the way look - most poignantly during a period where I heavily interviewed for Private Equity roles.
My take: leverage it - don’t apologise for it.
Confidence, grooming, and self-awareness are tools, not tricks. The goal isn’t to depend on looks; it’s to understand that presence and performance can coexist.
Real power is knowing the advantage exists - and ensuring it’s never the only thing you bring to the table.
📈 Markets: The WSGC Take
Credit spreads continued to tighten as investors bet on a softer landing; issuance remains strong.
→ WSG Take: The market’s optimism feels fragile - confidence can turn as fast as sentiment.IPO window reopening slowly after a quiet few quarters.
→ WSG Take: Momentum follows conviction - in markets and in careers.Consumer spending holding up, particularly in luxury.
→ WSG Take: Even in cautious climates, people invest in what feels aspirational - value and perception are inseparable themes right now.

🌷 Life Lately
This week has been a flurry of meetings, back to back coffees, and late-night recouperation. I’ve been in full career mode - reminding myself that pitching your own story isn’t arrogance, it’s self-respect (ok that’s not quite true, because I love pitching my own story - so in many ways it’s been pretty enjoyable)
It’s also a reminder that success rarely comes quietly. Sometimes you have to make noise, confidently and with purpose.
Between it all, I’ve been grounding myself in the basics - workouts, clean eating, and early mornings. The kind of routine that keeps me focused when everything else feels uncertain.
💼 Wall Street Girls Club - Launch Update
The WSG community is progressing and preparing to go live - a space built for high-performing women who want more than career talk. It’s about balance, visibility, strategy, and belonging and most importantly will help make that jump from high-paying corporate job to entrepreneurial venture easier.
Before launch, I’d love your input:
💬 What kind of content or conversations would you love to see more of?
Reply to this email or drop me a DM on TikTok- I want to build this with you.
💬 Closing Thought
Whether it’s markets, meetings, or mirror moments, the lesson this week is the same:
Perception is power - but substance keeps it standing.
With love,
